The Leptin Paradox – If you feel hungry all the time

If you feel hungry all the time...
before eating, while eating, after eating

That’s not normal..
It’s because your hunger signals are out of balance.

And once you see what’s actually happening inside your body, so many things suddenly make sense.

A client shared this with me during a recent conversation:

“In the past I was so hungry. I was hungry all the time.
I know it sounds crazy…but I was hungry while I was eating,
hungry right after I finished, hungry again before the next meal.

But now…I have periods where I don’t even think about food and that’s huge. I’m just not hungry anymore.”

That a classic example of Leptin resistance

Meet Leptin

Let me introduce you to a hormone most people have never heard of.
Leptin.

Leptin is made by your fat cells.
The more body fat you have, the more leptin you produce.

Its job is to tell your brain:
“We have enough stored body fat. We are safe.
You don’t need to look for food all the time.”

When leptin works properly, hunger stays calm in the background.

The Leptin Paradox

So why are people with more body fat often more hungry? 🤔
Because in many people, the brain stops responding to leptin.

Even though leptin levels are high, your brain doesn't get the signal and thinks you’re starving.

And when the brain thinks you’re starving, it reacts by:

  • Making you feel hungry all the time
  • Increase cravings
  • Slowing things down to “save energy”
  • Making fat loss feel impossible

That's Leptin Resistance.

This is why some people feel like they are always thinking about food.

Not because they love food too much.
But because their hunger system is broken.

Why Leptin resistance happens?

Leptin resistance is caused by 5 main factors:

  • Years of processed food and sugar
  • Chronic inflammation
  • Poor sleep
  • High triglycerides
  • Long periods of dieting and restriction

Most people with weight struggles don’t have a motivation problem.
They have a leptin signaling problem.

How to restore Leptin sensitivity?

Most people try to fight hunger.
That usually backfires.

What actually helps is removing the things that keep hunger switched on in the first place.

That happens when you:

  • Reduce ultra-processed foods and sugar
  • Eat enough protein and fiber
  • Lower inflammation
  • Move your body daily
  • Sleep enough

When leptin starts working again, something magical happens:
You don’t need to fight hunger. It quiets down on its own.

Takeaway 💡

If you want to lose weight but feel hungry all the time, this is important:

It’s not a willpower or a discipline problem.
It’s because your hunger hormones are out of balance.

The good news?
When leptin starts working again, weight loss becomes effortless.

Hunger comes down, cravings quiet down, and you’re no longer fighting your own biology.

Have a wonderful day ✨
